Wade Bowen Relives Memorable Moments in Nostalgic New Song "Cowboy Kid"
Texas troubadour Wade Bowen reflects on childhood dreams in wistful new track.
The veteran songwriter and Texas favorite is back with yet another bright poignant story of young dreams. A true wizard with the pen, Bowen chronicles the timeless tale of a young boy who never looses his dreamer's spirit.
Clinging to the feeling of never knowing what being "fenced in felt like," the mid tempo track narratives that while Wade may be older, that cowboy kid still lives in him. Unafraid to pull stories from his own life, Bowen's autobiographical story is rooted in his strong storytelling tradition.
Produced by Wade and co-written alongside GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter Casey Beathard (Eric Church, Kenny Chesney), “Cowboy Kid” was inspired by Wade’s childhood growing up in Texas and being encouraged to chase his larger-than-life dreams, such as being a cap gun cowboy or following in the footsteps of the Jesse James and John Waynes. Refusing to give up that spirit, Wade continues to live his life lead by the dreams he now has. Not to mention, the touching official video brings the passionate lyrics to life, featuring photos of young Bowen and his new dream life out on the road.
“As a kid I was a big dreamer and this song is about carrying those dreams into adulthood,” Bowen said. “I feel like most people start to lose sight or give up on them as they get older. I see the same thing happening in my own kids now as they get ready to move into adulthood, and I want them to know it’s ok to have crazy dreams… and I want them to have courage to chase them. They just might come true," Bowen shared in a press release.
Steadfast in narrowing in on acute moments of everyday life, Wade Bowen's style of country music connects. Highlighted by bright melodies and Bowen's signature vocal Cowboy Kid speaks to the dreamer in all of us, no matter your age.
