5. "When It Rains It Pours"
Since almost all of the country has been experiencing record-breaking rainstorms, we might as well include this one on our list. The song's intriguing concept centers around an overwhelming wave of good luck following a devastating breakup. It hooks listeners into a story that isn't an overdone one in country music.
4. "Beer Never Broke My Heart"
This hard-hitting, electric guitar-heavy track puts a unique spin on the classic "beer song" formula of country music. If your significant other is "Going, Going, Gone" (more on that one later), your truck is breaking down, or even your beloved pet is leaving you, at least the ice cold beer is right there. Ain't that the truth?
3. "Forever After All"
Who doesn't love a good country love song? In an anthem dedicated to his wife, Luke uses figurative language in such a charming way. "Forever After All" falls right in the middle of the spectrum between overly loaded and too light. It's just the right amount of cheesy; it just works.
2. "Going, Going, Gone"
Fittingly, Luke's current #2 radio single sits pretty at #2 on our list. With an easygoing yet somber melody, as well as strikingly vivid imagery once again, this track is easily one of his best to date. Rather than the stereotypical sad breakup song, this one takes a more mature, holistic outlook on the end of a relationship.
1. "She Got The Best Of Me"
This captivating song contains several elements that just scratch an itch in listeners' brains. The power and drive with which Luke delivers such heart-wrenching lyrics makes this track stand out. "She Got The Best Of Me" brings a certain catharsis and satisfaction that we just can't get enough of.
Ranking Luke Combs' discography can be a controversial subject at times, but at the end of the day, every song he puts out is a masterpiece in its own way. With songs like these five, and many more, it's no surprise that Luke is a defining force in modern country music. Happy birthday Luke!
