A packed crowd of sparkly cowboys and cowgirls turned the Hollywood Palladium into a neon-lit dream this weekend as Orville Peck brought his Stampede Tour to Los Angeles for two legendary shows on October 27th and 28th. Draped in fringe, mystery, and heart-wrenching lyrics, Peck reminded everyone why he’s a force in both country and indie music scenes.

The Look: Grit Meets Glamour

Orville hit the stage under dim lights, decked out in his iconic fringed mask and rhinestone-studded gear. The crowd? A mix of die-hard country fans and indie kids all dressed for the occasion. It’s rare to find an artist who bridges worlds like Peck, and he does it with every stitch of his wardrobe and every note of his deep, booming voice.

The Setlist: A Perfect Mix of Heartache and Hope

Peck delivered a soulful set that spanned his breakout album Pony, his 2020 EP Show Pony, and his latest release Bronco. Kicking things off the show, the room was immediately enveloped in his anthems of longing and resilience. Songs like “Dead of Night” and “Summertime” brought that cowboy-movie soundtrack vibe, where every lyric feels like a secret confession, and every chord carries you to an endless desert highway.

Crowd Energy: More than Just Fans, It's a Community

Peck’s audience isn’t just fans—they’re a tribe. The energy was electric, with fans singing every line like it was their own story. At one point, Orville paused, taking in the crowd with that signature cowboy gaze and whispered, “Thank you, LA. You all feel like home.” It’s hard to tell who was more emotional—the fans or the man behind the mask.

Highlights: When Peck’s Voice is the Star

For all the glam of his stage persona, it’s Peck’s raw talent that steals the show. His voice, that haunting mix of Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash, is just as powerful live as it is on his records. During “Hope to Die,” the Palladium felt like a cathedral, and you could almost hear hearts breaking in unison. The performance of “Let Me Drown” left the crowd with chills and a reminder of why we need artists who dare to be different.

Guest Star: BECK

Orville shared the best part about having a collaborative album is getting the share the stage with other artists as he visits their cities. His collaborator BECK, a Los Angeles native, appeared on stage and was greeted with a huge hug from Orville. The lucky audience got see the duo perform their song "Death Valley High" like it had never been performed before.

The Verdict: Orville Peck Keeps Us Guessing

Orville Peck’s two-night stop in LA was everything fans could want—soulful, stylish, and unforgettable. While he may keep his face hidden, Orville never hesitates to hold anything else back while on the stage.
