Morgan Wallen’s Foundation Hits a Home Run for Jefferson City Youth Baseball

In a heartwarming revival of local tradition, country music sensation Morgan Wallen is giving back to his roots in Jefferson City, Tennessee. The Morgan Wallen Foundation (MWF) has made a significant $100,000 donation to revitalize two baseball fields, a gesture that echoes Wallen’s enduring love for the sport and the community.

Wallen, whose rise to fame has not overshadowed his East Tennessean origins, fondly recalls the days his little league team played on Jefferson City's Roy Harmon Field. However, in recent years, these beloved fields have fallen into disrepair. Recognizing the importance of these grounds in fostering community spirit and athletic development, Wallen’s foundation has stepped in to bring youth baseball back to its former glory.

The donation allocates $80,000 to the renovation of Roy Harmon Field through the City Parks Department and $20,000 to New Market Field via the Jefferson City Little League. The funds will cover comprehensive upgrades, including new infields, bases, dugouts, press boxes, backstop padding, and fencing, transforming the fields into vibrant hubs of activity once more.

Robbie Britt, President of the Jefferson City Little League, expressed heartfelt gratitude, highlighting the broader impact of the revitalization. "Local little league is a pillar of the community—it creates a foundation for families to come together and enjoy an American pastime while teaching our youth skills that go beyond baseball,” Britt said. “We'd like to thank the Morgan Wallen Foundation for all of their support.”

Mayor Mitch Cain echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the long-term benefits for Jefferson City. "Jefferson City is pleased to be a recipient of funding from the Morgan Wallen Foundation. This engagement is not only a financial donation, but an investment in the future health of our City,” Cain remarked. “These improvements will benefit our kids, their families, and this community for years to come.”

For the past seven years, due to the deteriorating condition of the fields, local children had to travel five miles to New Market for games. The improvements funded by the MWF will allow approximately 300 kids to once again enjoy playing ball in their hometown, nurturing the next generation of athletes and community leaders.

Wallen’s personal connection to Jefferson City is immortalized in his 4x Platinum No. 1 hit “Thought You Should Know.” His ongoing One Night At A Time World Tour, which has already sold over 2.4 million tickets, supports the foundation further by donating a portion of every ticket sold.

As Wallen's music resonates with fans worldwide, his philanthropic efforts continue to make a tangible difference at home. The Morgan Wallen Foundation’s commitment to Jefferson City not only revitalizes baseball fields but also fosters community spirit, ensuring that the legacy of local sports thrives for years to come.
