What do you get a girl like Kelsea Ballerini for her birthday? How about headlining Knoxville’s Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center on Nov. 2? Beyond being her first major arena show, it’s a Homecoming for the East Tennessee songwriter.
Hours before she performs “Penthouse (Healed Version)” – from the Country Music Association Album of the Year-nominated Rolling Up the Welcome Mat – on MTV’s Video Music Awards tonight, Ballerini officially announced “The Homecoming Show,” a one night only concert on Nov. 2 in Knoxville. For the six-time CMA Female Vocalist nominee, the homecoming show announcement is an emotional moment in a career marked by multiple GRAMMY® nominations, an appearance on Saturday Night Live, a profile in the New York Times, writing and co-producing the groundbreaking Welcome Mat which was nominated for CMA Album of the year this year!

"Throughout the last decade and four albums, there has been a consistent ode to my hometown. whether it be lyrically like in ‘half of my hometown’ or celebrating milestone moments in venues like my high school, the tennessee theater, or the civic center, it’s always been incredibly important to me to go back to the place that let me go to chase my dream," Kelsea shared in a social media post. "Playing Thompson-Boling has been on my bucket list since i was a little kid watching my favorite musicians come through town and is the perfect place to celebrate such a bookmark year and kick off a new level of touring. see you november 2, knoxville 🧡
Tickets go on sale to Kelsea’s fan club at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13. General on-sale for this once-in-a-lifetime show is 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 15. Ingrid Andress and Georgia Webster will open.
With “IF YOU GO DOWN (I'M GOIN' DOWN TOO)” in the Top 15 at Country radio and climbing, three headlining theater tours over the last ten months and being the sole support on Kenny Chesney’s I Go Back 2023, there was only one thing left to do: go home. The homecoming show has her heading back to the place that shaped her soul, her values and especially her will to succeed.
