Copperhead Jones Finds His 'Second Wind' with Gritty, Authentic Country Rock
Since making waves with his debut single "No One Givin’ Up", Copperhead Jones has been steadily carving out a place for himself in the country music scene. A Navy veteran with roots in both Florida and Texas, his no-nonsense storytelling and raw authenticity have resonated with fans across the country. Now, with his sophomore album Second Wind, Copperhead is proving he’s more than just a promising newcomer—he’s a force to be reckoned with.

Born in Greenville, South Carolina, and raised in Cocoa, Florida, Copperhead’s journey to country music wasn’t conventional. He honed his craft as a musician while attending the University of Central Florida and Baylor University before enlisting in the Navy. His time in the military took him across the globe, where he learned to connect with people from all walks of life—experiences that would later shape the storytelling in his music. Following the success of his debut album Anchor, Copperhead settled in Midlothian, Texas, and hit the ground running with his band, building a dedicated following through electrifying live performances.
That road-tested energy is on full display in Second Wind. Recorded at Steel Records Studios, the album is a masterclass in modern country rock, blending swampy Southern grit with heartland storytelling. Copperhead himself describes the album as his most personal project yet:
“This project may not be my first, but it is the first album where every track is authentically me—from the stories to the musical influences involved. This is my story to the world. This is my Second Wind.”
From the moment "All Summer Long" kicks off the album, it’s clear Copperhead has found his voice. The song is a rowdy, foot-stomping anthem that sets the tone for the record. Another standout, "Thunderbird", slows things down just enough to showcase his range, offering a groovy country rock ballad packed with nostalgia and longing.
But it’s "It Don’t Work Like That" that truly ties the project together. A love song with a hard-edged country rock twist, it carries echoes of early Brantley Gilbert while maintaining a fresh, 2025 sound. Lyrically, the song explores the lingering weight of past love, detailing the emotional tug-of-war between moving on and holding onto memories. Copperhead’s vocal performance is full of grit and emotion, making the song an instant standout.
With Second Wind, Copperhead Jones delivers a record that’s both deeply personal and universally relatable. It’s an album that feels like a breath of fresh air amid the polished sounds of mainstream country—a raw, unfiltered look at love, life, and the road that brought him here. And if this album is any indication, Copperhead isn’t just here for the moment—he’s here to stay.
