Presented by iconic brands Wrangler and Resistol, the tournament brought together 28 golf teams for a day of camaraderie, competition, and giving back. According to the press release, funds raised during the tournament benefited Resistol’s Cowboys Who Care Foundation, the Different Day Foundation, and Wrangler’s Bucking Cancer initiative—organizations dedicated to creating meaningful change in the lives of children and families.

A Legacy of Giving

“For me, when you get an opportunity like this to give back, it’s a big deal,” said Cody Johnson in a heartfelt speech during the event according to the press release. “When you have a driving force, like these brands behind you, it’s hard not to step up and make a difference. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone involved.”

Johnson’s commitment to philanthropy is deeply personal, exemplified by the Different Day Foundation, which he founded with his wife, Brandi the release stated. This organization empowers women recovering from exploitation, providing essential tools and resources to help them rebuild their lives.

The press release also mentioned Resistol’s Cowboys Who Care Foundation, another key beneficiary, uplifts children battling cancer and life-threatening illnesses by gifting cowboy hats—a symbol of strength and resilience—to kids across the nation. Wrangler’s Bucking Cancer program supports a range of cancer-related charities tied to the rodeo and Western community, with this year’s proceeds benefiting the Golden Circle of Champions, an organization aiding pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Moments of Generosity and Impact

According to the press release, a highlight of the event came during the live auction when Resistol’s Cowboys Who Care Foundation, in partnership with the Cody NesSmith Memorial Team Roping, presented the Wolff family from Louisiana with an $80,000 check to fund a new van for their son Bennet, who lives with a rare medical condition. The foundation also set the tone for the day by donating $25,000 to the Golden Circle of Champions.

Daren Peterson, President of Resistol’s Cowboys Who Care Foundation, expressed gratitude for the event’s success in a recent press release: “We are honored and blessed to be part of a group that can provide financial support to deserving families and organizations.”

A Growing Tradition

The Cody Johnson Charity Golf Tournament has quickly established itself as a standout event, blending the Western lifestyle with a spirit of generosity. This year’s tournament wasn’t just about raising funds; it was about creating moments of joy and connection. The release also shared that days after the tournament, Resistol’s Cowboys Who Care board members visited Sunrise Children’s Hospital, where they handed out 50 Resistol cowboy hats to children, families, and staff. Country singer Cash Black added a special touch by performing for patients during the visit.

With the combined efforts of Cody Johnson, Resistol, Wrangler, and the dedicated participants, this annual tournament is a testament to the power of community and commitment to giving back. The funds raised will leave a lasting impact on countless lives, ensuring the legacy of this event grows even stronger in the years to come.
