A Legacy of Giving: Randy Owen and the Angels Among Us Award
The St. Jude Country Cares Seminar has a storied history, with deep roots in the country music world. It all began with Alabama's Randy Owen, who founded the Country Cares for St. Jude Kids® program over 30 years ago. His tireless efforts have inspired countless artists to lend their voices and platforms to support St. Jude's mission. In recognition of outstanding commitment and service, the Angels Among Us award was established, honoring those who have made significant contributions to the cause.
This year, six-time ACM Award winners Old Dominion are set to receive the 2024 Angels Among Us award, joining an esteemed group of past recipients, including Randy Owen, Brothers Osborne, Scotty McCreery, Florida Georgia Line, Lady A, Jake Owen, Brad Paisley, and Darius Rucker. Matthew Ramsey, lead vocalist of Old Dominion, expressed the band's deep gratitude and connection to the cause, saying in a press statement, "It's truly humbling to be awarded the Angels Among Us honor by St. Jude. The patients and families of St. Jude inspire us deeply. By uniting with fellow artists and Country radio fans, we want to help make sure that no family receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food so they can focus on helping their child live. Supporting such a remarkable mission is a privilege, and we are thankful to be part of it."

Moroney's performance will be a touching prelude to Old Dominion's set, where they will be joined by none other than Randy Owen himself. This special duet promises to be a highlight of the evening, a beautiful fusion of past and present, united by a shared commitment to the children and families of St. Jude.
