Belles’ new single, "Porcelain," out January 31st is a masterclass in tender storytelling, an homage to the enduring strength of love wrapped in fragility. With her signature voice—a delicate yet powerful instrument reminiscent of the legendary women of country music—Belles crafts a heartfelt ballad that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.

The song’s lyrics are its beating heart, painting a vivid portrait of a steadfast love that balances rugged resilience with gentle care. The opening lines immediately transport listeners into the world of the narrator’s partner: “He’s rough around the edges, he’s got lines around his eyes / He’s jagged like the metal of his grandad’s pocket knife.” It’s a compelling juxtaposition, setting up a character who is toughened by life’s wear and tear but impossibly tender in love.

Accompanying the song is a music video that feels like a love letter to farm life, directed by Sydney Tooley. Belles, a Nebraska native, has spoken about her deep admiration for the farming community and the young couples who choose to carry on their family’s agricultural legacy. The video reflects this respect beautifully, offering a glimpse into the everyday magic of a couple’s life on the land. From sweet glances on the porch to love filled trips to the grocery store, this music video is a dream.

"When I first sat down with director Sydney Tooley we decided we wanted to create the perfect day in the life of a young farm couple. Being from Nebraska, I have a lot of respect for farm life, and for how many young people are choosing to go into farming, or carry on the family farm, when so many huge corporations are buying up massive amounts of farmland in Nebraska and across America every day," Belles shared with All Country News. "I wanted to shine a light on the spirit of farming, thru the eyes of a young couple in love. We chose elements of bluish color palate, reflective of old porcelain dishes, so common in many farming communities. I love the way it turned out, highlighting the magic in everyday life on the land, in love.

From the golden-hour fields to the stolen glances between the couple, the visual storytelling is just as compelling as the song itself. The video doesn’t rely on elaborate set pieces or forced dramatics; instead, it finds its beauty in authenticity. The result is a cinematic dream that enhances the song’s central theme—strength and tenderness coexisting in perfect harmony.

Belles has once again proven herself as a songwriter with a keen eye for detail and a heart that beats for real, lived-in stories. "Porcelain" is more than just a song; it’s a tribute to enduring love, the beauty of the simple life, and the kind of devotion that stands the test of time. This single, paired with its stunning music video, cements Belles as a rising force in country music—one whose voice, both literal and lyrical, deserves to be heard.
